Morpheus Consortium
Project Management · International Collaboration · Program Launch
During my time with Duke Anesthesiology, I served as Administrative Assistant to the department chair and had the opportunity to project manage one of the initiatives I’m still most proud of: helping bring the Morpheus Consortium and Duke Perioperative Medicine Fellowship from an ambitious idea to a working international collaboration.
I supported project management, communications, and coordination as Duke University School of Medicine and University College London developed the partnership, working across institutions, teams, and plenty of moving pieces. I also supported the launch and recruitment of the first Duke Perioperative Medicine Fellowship cohort.
The project has evolved significantly since my involvement—and that might be my favorite part. What began as a collaboration between Duke and UCL has grown into a broader international consortium advancing research, education, training, and perioperative care.
There’s something incredibly satisfying about looking back at a project you helped launch and realizing it kept going, growing, and becoming bigger than the work you originally knew.
The project involved much more than keeping a timeline. I worked across institutions and with faculty, administrators, and communications partners to help move a complex international initiative from idea to execution. I coordinated meetings and events, managed travel logistics and accommodations for international faculty, supported enterprise initiatives, developed communications and recruitment materials, and consulted with communications colleagues on marketing strategy.
Stakeholders + Collaboration

International Logistics
Managed travel, accommodations, schedules, itineraries, meetings, and on-site details for visiting international faculty.
Program Launch + Recruitment
Helped launch and market the Duke Perioperative Medicine Fellowship and recruit its inaugural cohort in just 16 months. How? I picked up the phone and cold called over 50 residency programs as a follow up to a marketing email.
Communications + Marketing
Supporting the development of recruitment and program materials and partnered with communications colleagues on branding, messaging, and marketing strategy.
Events + Administration
Coordinated meetings, events, documentation, correspondence, schedules, and the many behind-the-scenes details required to keep a complex initiative moving.
